- Hi, I'm Nomi. I'm 25 years old. I'm finishing up my BFA in Painting. My subject matter is focused on the experiences and feelings I have had as a young biracial / mixed race woman. The mainly abstract paintings focus on the pull a mixed race individual can often feel from the different cultures that make up who they are. Adding in the figure is another way for me to create an easier to read narrative in my paintings. I am learning and growing and a blog seemed to be a smart way to share my artwork and growth with others.

Ok, so I completely forgot a picture of my roomie GM, so I had to draw one; 3am it;s not So Bad. But Seriously, I have the BEST Roomie EVERR!!!! And who ever wants to challenge me on that, I WILL (try and) FIGHT YOU!!!!! No Seriously, Not a Joke! You mess with my GM, you mess with me... and maybe my other alright roomate BIG JOE!!!

thank you, PF, you got the date correct. I turned 3 yesterday (that's what all the numbers ultimately add up to).
I am not eating again until I feel my stomach rumble, which, by my estimates, should be around your birthday.
First we went to Providence, and let Sal cook for us. Squash blossoms!!!! Yay!!!! And after everything, the staff gave me a birthday cake. Aww....
Then, we had dinner plans with our new Brazilian friends, the guys who built our deck. The wife remembered I liked feijoada and the national drink caiperinas, with lots of rum. We had brought a butter rum cake for dessert, but it turned out the girlfriend had made a chocolate thing, which we had to eat. And then we had the cake we brought. And then they brought out the biggest and gaudiest birthday cake you ever saw, so I had to have a slice of that...
This morning I babysit at the church and am bringing that cake for the after mass coffee hour. I can't look it anymore. And not just because it is pink and purple! It was yum, but too much.
But it was a grand day and I got lots of calls (hello? Val?) from my friends and family. Even the cats cooperated!
Loved your amusement park photos, but the karaoke slayed me. Didn't you sing? Didn't you feel my spirit invading you? I llove karaoke!
Good morning, Peaches. Haven't been on in a while - Sat here early, before work and got teary during the first portion of your video. Hearing "I am Sailing" in the background - omg - sniffle,sniffle. I miss you so much. I had a call from GM yesterday - she wants me to tell her how she can leave you a message. I'm calling her tonite with directions. BTW - do you have my Stevie Wonder Talking Book cd?! I can't find it - and it occurred to me as I sat here smiling, listening to your voice, that I hadn't seen the cd in a long, looongg time! :) (no biggie!)Love you so very much and I miss you incredibly.
